God's Grace

It’s been a while since I last posted, looks like way back in 2013. Wow has time flown. It always does. Lots have happened in those intervening years, COVID comes to mind, the death of Queen Elizabeth too. We have power price jumps, fuel price jumps and the future of the world looks bleak. But, Jesus is still as relevant today as He was way back in 2013. If want to know more about Jesus and you live in or near Swan Hill, why not head to Seed Community Church this 2024 Easter weekend?

Well we have moved on from the old fellowship and have joined a new Church plant called SEED Community Church. Started on the firm ground of reformed theology which is built on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, SEED is starting to gain momentum with like minded believers in the Community.

We are in the process of doing the Discipleship Programme by Credo House. Great series and well worth getting. After all the Great Commission is to go and make disciples of all the Nations, and that’s what the guys at Credo House are doing.

We are going through a financial crisis at our local church. We have reached a critical mass in loss of numbers which is leading to a loss of financial support. What amazes me though is that the Church governing bodies are seemingly more inline with worldly regulations rather than in line with Gods grace. And that despite the looming financial crisis, there appears no movement from the pastor to reduce the burden on the church financially.

Well I’ve finished the book and while I found the material good and solid, Kyle’s somewhat attempt at humour left me a little dry. Aside from all that the book was good on theology and certainly gave me a greater understanding of where I’m at with the Lord. I would recommend everyone grab a copy, sit down, read it and then work out whether you are a fan or follower.

We had the rare privilege of attending the Oxygen conference held in Sydney back in August. We had never quite experienced something like it. We listened to people like John Piper and John Lennox talk, as well as hearing presentations by some well qualified speakers during the electives. But the real blessing has come from the fact that KCC recorded everything and gave the delegates access to these recordings.

So we may have only had the chance to attend two electives over the time we were in Sydney, but we can now listen to all electives and the conferences main speakers Piper and Lennox.

God is truly Gracious in His dealings with us.
